These days, I had a chat with a friend and former co-worker of mine about the OSGi JDBC Service and the lack of progress and database support in Gemini DBAccess, which appears to be the only OSGi JDBC implementation currently available.

After some thinking and hacking, I'm now proposing to create a new OPS4J project Pax JDBC to provide an alternative implementation of the OSGi JDBC service.

Using Pax Swissbox Extender, Pax URL Wrap and Pax Exam, it was very easy to implement and test the first draft of a service implementation which creates a very basic DataSourceFactory for any old JDBC 4 driver.

This stuff is ready to be pushed to GitHub after some cleanup.

As always, any feedback, ideas or contributions are most welcome...

Best regards,
Harald
