The Lucene community as a group does not tend to do a lot of naval gazzing about it's relative size/growth (allthough individuals in the community may occasionally blog about their own observations) nor are there any official metrics recorded/reported by the PMC.
Your best bet for finding stats about this sort of thing would be from the various third parties that aggregate such information...
