As a starter of this mail threads, thank you for all responses. From the Mike’s lists of current Lucene’s limitations, many others could know where Lucene might go.
I think Lucene’s v5 already has solved some of that limitations and will solve them mostly in the near future in consideration of roadmaps and conversations on mailing lists. I love Lucene. I attached benchmark results, and I agree with what Erik said. It’s a long time ago benchmarks, and I have no code because one person had done a test by himself internally. I know it cannot be an official test result, I just share you my search engine’s possibility. I have thought a lot nowadays about my search engine’s position in the open source search engine area. It’s hard for my search engine to compete with Lucene, because I develop my search engine with a few people while Lucene does with many committers and contributers. As many people responded me, it’s a fast and efficient way to join Lucene’s community and improve it to get to the goal making a great search engine. So, I’ll join Lucene’s community and contribute to Lucene along with developing my search engine. I hope Lucene will be a more powerful search engine, and I will spend the effort improving it.
