Here's what I gathered from the discussions on the maillists. I've tried to distill down the conversations by combining similar comments, not including editorial comments, and not including broader topics such as the need for a real branding exercise at OSAF, or the plight of starving children.
Suggestions:
- Something better than <http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Projects/ScoobyHome>
- It should be a fairly simple, mostly text page for Scooby with organized sections and better organization than the wiki.
- It should be the main information departure point for all things Scooby, not just release 0.1.
- Incorporate navigation elements from the Chandler project page (the left side navigation) into the Scooby project page.
- It is important to have engaging, clearly written documentation.
- State very clearly this software is not in a state that people should start putting their real life calendars in to this product.
- Some sort of quickie graphical logo for Scooby -- even if it's just Arial Black with a tiny drop shadow behind it. (Matt volunteered to stay up late at night and throw one out himself if he has to.)
- Since the Scooby releases are expected to happen frequently, we could plan for a more full scale landing page for 0.2.
Proposal for Scooby landing page: please vote
- Create a simple, mostly text-based landing page with navigation elements borrowed from the Chandler landing page. (see a 1st draft at: http://wiki.osafoundation.org/pub/Journal/FirstDraftLanding/scoobyLand.html
- If time permits, someone can do a Scooby 0.1 "logo"
- Work to create the appropriate supporting information, [substance trumps presentation]
- 0.1
status summary and disclaimer
- project overview
- architecture
- project plans (roadmap/goals)
- comparison with other AJAX calendar solutions
- download page
- etc.
