Katie and I were talking about examples of good mailing list summaries.
It's easier to show than to tell, so here are some examples of summaries
that I like.
Kernel-Traffic was the cadillac of summaries, but unfortunately, the
summarizer burned out:

The Python-dev summary is also really good
http://www.python.org/dev/summary/2006-01-01_2006-01-15/
Debian's weekly news is not really a summary, but gives a different angle

The Dr. Dobbs Python-URL! is a different take -- it points out
good/interesting threads

I just like the use of color in the Ruby Weekly news summaries

Many of these are indexed from the Linux Weekly News <http://lwn.net>,
which is a great resource.
