What about shares on cosmo-demo? Do they need to be migrated? Or are they safe as they are?

They need to be migrated if you are going to use the new Chandler. That being said, they're "safe" there, we're not planning to decommission cosmo-demo yet.

How difficult would it be to extend Chandler to include some custom headers into the ics file that would allow us to preserve all data? It could be temporarily added to the code and not part of the normal "export to ICS" menu action (maybe in Test?).

That was briefly discussed on IRC and voted down: we're in the last days of alpha4 and we want to reduce code churn as much as possible. Adding this (arguably a new feature) at the last minute doesn't feel safe quite frankly. Especially if people rely on it for their data integrity.

Do you have a lot of non-event data? I personally had few tasks and emails so I prefixed the title of those with "Email:" and "Task" so that I could sort them rapidly and restore their integrity when importing them back. Not a workable solution though if you've a lot of them I have to admit.

And what about the old shares? Will they eventually be removed and by whom? I don't mind cleaning mine up myself, just let us know if we should worry about it or if there will be a mass purge of old shares at some point.

As I said, we're not planning to take cosmo-demo off line but we won't upgrade it to Cosmo 0.5 (which would require to wipe out the old data anyway). osaf.us is already using Cosmo 0.5.

Cheers,
- Philippe
