Everyone,

I'm pleased to let you know that Eric Dalquist has been voted in as a Portals Committer and PMC member! Congratulations Eric, and welcome!

I mistakenly started the vote on a private list but the result is copied below.

Regards,
Elliot

+1 - 5
 0 - 0
-1 - 0

With 5 +1's and no -1's, Eric has been voted in as a committer and PMC member.

David, what is the procedure here on out?

Should I send the invite (I'll distinguish between PMC and committership in
case he doesn't want to be on the PMC) to Eric with instructions for filling
out the CLA?

Elliot

I'd like to propose a vote that I feel is long overdue: Eric Dalquist as a
Portals Committer/PMC Member.

Eric has been active in the Pluto community for a couple of years, going back
to Pluto 1.0 Release Candidates. He has submitted a number of issues to the
Pluto Jira, and is always careful to include patches and testcases. He is very
community oriented (has made contributions to Spring, Pluto, and other OS
projects - including of course uPortal), participating in list discussions, etc.

He has been a core developer of uPortal for a number of years, which leveraged
Pluto 1.0 and now Pluto 1.1; has acted as the release engineer, and is a
regular presenter at JA-SIG conferences (the umbrella organization that uPortal
belongs to).

He has worked closely with David DeWolf and others (including me - don't count
that against him :) ) with Pluto 1.1, influencing its design and features.

He knows Maven and Ant very well (just thought I would throw that in there);
I'm confident he will be a valuable addition to the ASF Portals community.

He's one of the finest people I've had the privilege to work with, personally
and professionally. So please consider making Eric a Portals committer and PMC
member.

Best Regards,
Elliot
