Hello all, The PMC has been discussing how to make sure that we deal with the 3rd party jar issue:
Each member of the PMC is going to take responsibility for a set of 3rd party jars. On Friday any 3rd party jars which have questionable license status will be removed from CVS. It should go without saying that we don't want to have to remove any jar files unless there is really a problem with the licensing. The reason that we are doing this by jar is that there are some jars which have been released under multiple licenses (BSF comes to mind as the best example). The PMC member responsible for a jar will investigate whether or not that jar is license compatible with the ASF. After that, the jar custodian will work with affected projects to make sure that they put the right licenses into CVS. Here are are the jar assignments.
