Then you need to set the Amiga IP, dynamic destination, Gateway IP (one of the other machines), Netmask 255.255.255.0. Then add all the machines on the LAN in the Databases/Hosts section to give them names. Then you should be able to ping all the machines from each other (once you have set the other machines up too of course). The hard part is setting up Samba :-). Samba is not to difficult, if you stick with the notes supplied with the archive (Aminet has the latest version 2.0.6). There are only a few things that you should keep in mind. Be sure that you have the same workgroup for your LAN. You can configure the samba config file via the supplied (and if you follow the documentation) and installed SWAT system (http://localhost:901). I you use a SHARE network then you should be ready, if you want to use a USER network you will have to create a passwd file for samba using the smbpasswd supplied in the archive. If you want to be able to mount the PC drives onto your Amiga you can use the Net-handler. It works great ____________________________________________________________ Genesis Mailing List - Info & Archive: http://www.vapor.com/ For Listserver Help: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "HELP" To Unsubscribe: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "UNSUBSCRIBE"
