My LAN contains a A4000t (with Ariadne II), a PC, a Sparc 5 and a HP4000 network
printer connected together with a 8
ports hub. The Amiga and the sparc use samba (v2.6.0) to communicate between the
different systems. Thus file browsing
using Dopus or windoze explorer. The Amiga is using a 56k6 modem to connect to the
internet.
Every system has its own static IP address. Samba takes care of the communication
between the different computer systems.
and SMBhandler takes care of browsing the LAN on the Amiga side.
There are two things that I have not got to work
1) I can't get the amiga to serve as a printer server (thus sending data from the
amiga spooling directory to an IP on the LAN)
2) I also tried to get the pc on the internet using Socked server. But the pc version
of RC5 tells me that connection is not
allowed by using sock5.
I do not have any documentation on the Socked server
So I can help you setup your LAN using Samba, but not with the Modem thing.
