Hi Chris,
I spent a *lot* of time trying to set up what I think you are looking
for but I'm afraid I had no success. I have an Amiga and a number of
PCs connected via a small Ethernet network. I wanted to use the
socks5 server to allow my PC's to use my Amiga's dial-up connection.
I contacted Leslie Bird who ported socks5 to the Amiga and he was very
helpful but still I could not get the process working.
I must admit I am still confused about the difference (if any) between
the socks feature in AmiTCP/Genesis and socks5.
In the end I gave up and used the Internet Connection Sharing feature
of Windoze '98 - this is currently working but I would still prefer to
have the Amiga driving so to speak as it can get onto the net and
download my E-mails while the PC is still booting!
I will forward you the E-mails from Leslie which may be of interest to
you, but should you have any success I would be very interested to
hear about it.
