Assuming that's ok on both machines: On each machine try to ping it's *own* IP address. So, in your example, on the Amiga ping 192.168.1.2 (you don't actually need the network cable plugged in to do this). What is the IP address of the PC? Subnet mask of the PC? Ping the PC's IP address on the PC. If both of those work, your cards are installed and configure ok. (remember at this stage they're not trying to talk to each other). Assuming config is ok on both (which the above should prove). You are using a cross over cable I take it? Could do with some more info on the PC config too.
