Hello, The file contains information for all cDNA sequences, which include genbank-based tracks for EST and mRNA data (including the "other" tracks when present). This table is very large - it performs badly or fails completely when part of a Table browser query due to the size, for species such as mouse and human where there is a lot of data (even when gathering data per chromosome). You will need to ftp the file from Downloads and write your own utility to do the filtering on the species column. It sounds like you may already have something like this started.
Hope this explains the data, Jennifer ------------------------------------------------ Jennifer Jackson UCSC Genome Bioinformatics Group ----- [email protected] wrote: > From: [email protected] > To: [email protected] > Sent: Monday, November 30, 2009 5:19:32 PM GMT -08:00 US/Canada Pacific > Subject: [Genome] question about gbCdnaInfo.txt > > Hi, > > I have downloaded gbCdnaInfo.txt of human and mouse from > http://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/hg19/database/ abd > http://hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/mm9/database/ respectively > > But I have found the human/mouse file contains non-human/non-mouse > mRNA > and EST. > > e.g. this record is in mouse's file > 42 AB240682 1 2005-10-10 mRNA 0 22 22 > 0 0 0 0 0 > 0 23 6 0 20 18 18 81295300 mRNA > > the organism id is 22, which is "Leptospira interrogans serovar > Icterohaemorrhagiae" > > May I know why? > > -- Eric > _______________________________________________ > Genome maillist - [email protected] > https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
