Hi Sigve,

Thanks for alerting us, and glad to hear you're finding the data useful. I
asked the dbSNP team ([email protected]) about the files and they said
that they are still 'installing components' and expect to announce the release
soon, perhaps within a couple days. In case there are any last-minute issues,
we prefer to wait until they announce the release. Within a week after that we
should have the SNPs themselves loaded on our test server
(genome-test.cse.ucsc.edu - not as stable as the main site), and within another
week should have the snp131Ortho database table on the test server. Then the
test server data will be checked before release, which may take another week or
two, and then the data will appear on genome.ucsc.edu and
hgdownload.cse.ucsc.edu.

I hope that helps, and feel free to check in with us a couple weeks after the
announcement if you would like to see a preview of the data on the test server.

Angie
