hi Pietro, When the 4.2 assembly was released, we reviewed the release notes and decided that the changes were not significant enough to merit the overhead of building a new cow Genome Browser, particularly since the cow reference paper is based on the 4.0 assembly. We currently do not have plans to upgrade to the 4.2 assembly. Sorry to not be of more help.
