Hello,

By "no expression data" from the .gff file, do you mean no line graph?
This would be expected. Data in a .gff file is positional. Presumably
the other labels in the file would provide information about what the
positions represent (for example: score)
FAQ for GFF format:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/FAQ/FAQformat.html#format3

To control the display of scores, follow the custom track "track line"
construction instructions (specifically, try "useScore=1")
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/hgTracksHelp.html#TRACK

The .wig file you obtained is one of the graphing data formats the
browser displays. Others are discussed here:
http://genomewiki.ucsc.edu/index.php/Selecting_a_graphing_track_data_format

Please let us know if this does not resolve your display issue,
Jen
