Hello Kevin, The bin field is an indexing field used by the Browser software to speed up data display. It should just be ignored. You will not find it in any of the data file format FAQs. For any table with a leading "bin", just remove that column and the remainder of the table should match the table/file specification.
http://genome.ucsc.edu/FAQ/FAQformat.html If you find a table not in the FAQ above, and the description in the Table browser "describe table schema" is unclear, please write back and we can explain. There are a few newer formats we are actively working to build documentation around.
