Hello Saatvik, We apologize, this program is non-functional (has never been functional). It is on our "cleanup" to-do list.
Instead we suggest (if you are a linux/gnu user) using the utility fold. The program will break any line longer than 60 characters into multiple lines of 60 (or fewer) characters. As long as the fasta headers are shorter than the -w argument, it will work just like chopFaLines was intended to. unix% fold -w 60 my.fa Very sorry for the confusion this may have caused you, Jennifer --------------------------------- Jennifer Jackson UCSC Genome Informatics Group http://genome.ucsc.edu/ On 5/14/10 5:55 PM, Saatvik Agarwal wrote: > Hi UCSC people, > > chopFaLines always seems to exit with uglyAbort("All for now") both in > practice and in the code.
