Hi Sudhir, Thank you for your patience while we were working on your question. We recommend using the Table Browser (http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTables) to get the information you need:
1) Select your clade, genome and assembly of interest. 2) Select "Genes and Gene Prediction Tracks" from the group list and "RefSeq Genes" from the track list. 3) Make a filter by clicking on the "create" button after "filter". 4) Scroll down to the linked tables and select "refLink" and then click "Allow Filtering Using Fields in Checked Tables" at the bottom of the page. 5) Again, scroll down to the linked tables and select "geneName" and then click "Allow Filtering Using Fields in Checked Tables" at the bottom of the page. 6) Paste in your list of gene names into the geneName.name field. These names need to be separated by only spaces. Click "submit". 7) Select "selected fields from primary and related tables" as the output format and click "get output". 8) Similar to the filtering page, select the refLink and geneName tables. 9) Select your columns of interest from the refGene table as well as "name" from the geneName table. Click "get output". Unfortunately, we do not have the size of genes available in our tables; you will have to calculate the size by hand or through a script. I hope this information is helpful. Please feel free to contact the mail list again if you require further assistance.
