Looks like the official gene symbol for 3OST2 is HS3ST2, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/9956 .
If above information is true, plug-in the gene symbol in the 'gene' field of the gateway table at http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgGateway . Make sure you selected the correct 'assembly' type in the gateway table section. HS3ST2 chr16:22733361-22835160 Hope this helps. vinodh -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Zheng, Hao Sent: Wednesday, September 08, 2010 11:12 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [Genome] Gene position of a specific gene Dear Colleague, Sometimes, I find it hard to get the nucleotide positions of a gene given its gene name. For example, there is a gene called 3-ost-2, however, I am not able to get the chromStart and chromEnd position of this gene using the UCSC Genome Browser on Human Mar. 2006 (NCBI36/hg18) Assembly . Do you have any suggestions? Thanks, Hao Zheng _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome _______________________________________________ Genome maillist - [email protected] https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/mailman/listinfo/genome
