Dear Ann, Here is a link to the user's guide on how to save the output to a file:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/hgTablesHelp.html#SaveFile You will need to input a name that you would like your file to be saved as in the "output file:" input box on the table browser page. You will also need to uncheck all of the boxes next to "Send output to" Then click "get output" and you will be prompted to save the file on your computer. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to contact the mailing list. It's nice that it is now possible to send output directly into Galaxy. But most of the time I just want to get a file onto my computer. When the data travels through Galaxy, I lose the file name I entered and there doesn't appear to be any way to compress it. Is there a way to retrieve the data without sending it through Galaxy first? Thank you!
