Hi, This is Srujana from UC San Diego going to work on Genome Browser. Now I am
installing genome browser. (I am new to LINUX).
I have Few questions...
In MySQL-database setup

I have added one ".hg.conf" file in $WEBROOT/cgi-bin/ folder and another in my
"/home/srujana/" folder where my ".bashrc" file is present. (~/.hg.conf - what
does it mean, is it same as .hg.conf ????)
I want to know the place of the following lines, do I need to include in
".bashrc" file

$ export SAL_PASSWORD = mysql_root_password
$ mysql -u root -p{SQL_PASSWORD} -e "show tables;" mysql
do
$ mysql -u root -p{SQL_PASSWORD} -e "GRANT SELECT, INSERT etc ;" mysql
.....
.....
.....
done

As I am new to LINUX , I need some help regarding the set up for "Human and
mouse genome databases" access to my work, Actually I am planning to work on to
create a network based tool for signaling molecules. I am basically from
Electronics and Communications engineering background.
