Sonja, The hg19 --> hg18 liftOvers are being produced and will be released in the near future. You should see the functionality first appear on our test browser:
http://genome-test.cse.ucsc.edu you will want to check some conversions carefully if using the test site, as it will not have been through our QA process until it is released on the public site. The annotations on the hg18 browser took many years to produce and we are running our clusters (and staff!) full time to replicate all the information for hg19. There is no way to predict how long it will take to fully populate hg19, but it is a top priority for our team. We release the data track by track as they are produced. The comparative genomics are the top of the list. Thanks for your interest in the new human assembly. best wishes, --b0b kuhn ucsc genome bioinformatics group On Thu, 4 Jun 2009 14:26:21 +0200 Sonja Althammer <[email protected]> wrote: > Hello! > I have 2 questions about hg19: > Why is it not possible to lift over from hg19 to hg18 > while it works the > other way around?
