Hi Hao Zheng,

If you do a search for HRPT2 in the hg18 browser the UCSC gene
uc001gtb.1 comes up as a result. This gene lists "HRPT2" as an alternate
name:

Alternate Gene Symbols: A6NLZ8, C1orf28, CDC73_HUMAN, HRPT2, NM_024529,
NP_078805, Q6P1J9, Q6PK51, Q96A07, Q9H245, Q9H5L7

You can see this in the details page for this gene by clicking on the
"other names" link in the far righthand column of the table at the top
of the page:
http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgGene?hgg_gene=uc001gtb.1&hgg_prot=Q6P1J9&hgg_chrom=chr1&hgg_start=191357783&hgg_end=191487679&hgg_type=knownGene&db=hg18

If you click on "Table Schema" link in the "Sequence and Links to Tools
and Databases" table (in the same description page) it will take you to
the table entry (in the Table Browser) for this gene which includes the
information you are looking for.

Hopefully this information was helpful and answers your question. If you
have further questions or require clarification feel free to contact the
mailing list at [email protected].
