Hi Archie, We appreciate your suggestion and will pass this request on to our developers. In the meantime, the gene sorter (http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgNear) may be helpful to you. It allows you to search for a gene and then sort by gene distance to see other genes that are nearby.
