Hi Josué, Assuming you are referring to the Human Feb. 2009 assembly (GRCh3/hg19), you can find the total size (3,137,161,264) by going to the gateway page (http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgGateway) and clicking the blue "sequences" link, which will take you here: http://genome.ucsc.edu/cgi-bin/hgTracks?db=hg19&chromInfoPage= (scroll down to "Total").
For the number of genes, it really depends on which gene set you want to use. For example, the UCSC Genes set contains 27,297 genes. You can retrieve this number from the Table Browser: click on 'Table' located in the top blue navigation bar. Then set the following: clade: Mammal genome: Human assembly: Feb. 2009 (GRCh37/hg19) group: Genes and Gene Prediction Tracks track: UCSC Genes table: knownCanonical Then click on 'summary/statistics'. To see the total number of transcripts in the UCSC Genes set, change the table to knownGene, and click on 'summary/statistics' again. To obtain the total number of exons, please see this previously answered question*: https://lists.soe.ucsc.edu/pipermail/genome/2007-June/013729.html *Except set clade: Mammal, genome: Human, assembly: Feb. 2009 (GRCh37/hg19). Once you have a list, you will need to add the numbers to get the total. I hope this helps.
