Hi David,

Thank you for sending sessions to illustrate the problem!  There are a 
few things you can try to get less vertical space between the tracks:

First, the printable images that you get by either right-clicking the 
image and selecting "View image" (which results in a PNG file), or by 
clicking the PDF/PS link in the blue bar at the top of the page, already 
do show less vertical space between tracks.  Maybe one of those image 
options will work for you.

Another way to go about eliminating space would be to condense the data 
that is displayed in dense for each of your tracks into elements of a 
single track.  It might be difficult to get the colors of each item to 
show up the way they do for each track being in dense, though.

A third option would be to create a composite track of all of your 
existing tracks.  To create a composite composite track, you would need 
to convert your BED data into bigBed format and set up a track data hub: 
http://genome.ucsc.edu/goldenPath/help/hgTrackHubHelp.html.
