Is there a way to bookmark track configurations per "project"?

What I would like to do is to select a number of tracks that I want to show or hide, order them, and save this configuration under a given name, say "activating histone modifications", only showing histone data. Then select a different group of tracks and bookmark the view under, say "expression data". I would then click on a link to "activating histone modifications" and find only tracks belonging to that bookmark.

As the number of tracks grows, it would be extremely useful to be able to bookmark selected tracks, grouping by project and the like, mimicking the behavior of having genome browsers with different content running on the same server. Labs or researchers running different projects would easily switch between one bookmark and the other, without the need of manually reselecting all tracks for a given project. If this feature is not yet available, I would suggest its implementation. Maybe under the button "configure", the user could be given the option to select and bookmark tracks under custom names.

    Thank you.

p.s. I know that I can pass variables to the cgi and implement my own bookmark. However, this is not feasible for most users. Also, a bookmarking system implemented in the genome browser could allow real-time updates to the bookmark (either automatic or asking the user if he/she wants to modify the bookmark), while my solution requires passing new variables, i.e. real-time changes to an existing bookmark are lost.
