Thanks much Vanessa.

It is rather confusing, b/c the Baylor site shows a picture of a
hamadryas baboon (P. hamadryas), rather than the olive baboon (P.
anubis) used for sequencing.

Hi John,

It is the Nov. 2008 Papio hamadryas draft assembly (Baylor BCM HGSC
Pham_1.0). More information can be found on this page:
http://hgsc-vmweb-08.hgsc.bcm.edu/content/baboon-genome-project which
states that it is produced from Olive baboon (Papio anubis).

Thanks Vanessa!

Is this Papio hamadryas hamadryas? Or is it P.h. anubis?

Hi John,

We have the papHam1 assembly on our preview site:
http://genome-preview.soe.ucsc.edu. Please keep in mind that the data on
this server has not been reviewed and is subject to change.

If you have further questions, please email the list:

Dear UCSC Genome:

I understand there is a draft baboon (P. hamadryas anubis) genome
available.

But I cannot find it on your web-site.

Can you please direct me to the location of the baboon genome?

Thanks,

John
