Actually, those are not the real errors. All that tells me is that something else had an error, so make stopped, and because make stopped, emerge stopped. It might be helpful to see the actual errors. You want the _first_ line that says 'error' (and probably doesn't say 'make' at the beginning of the line). It may be several lines up from that (or in extreme cases, several screenfuls) due to parallel make.
