Something less stupid : Which use flags do you have for your blackdown jre ? This page http://gentoo-portage.com/dev-java/blackdown-jre/USE#ptabs lists : nsplugin Global: Builds plugins for Netscape compatible browsers mozilla Global: Adds support for the Mozilla web-browser And, by the way, the blackdown 64b jvm makes firefox 64b crash 5 seconds after a page with java code is displayed.
