Not sure if it will work that way, and I guess it will depend if there is no 3dnow instructions in use - might be interesting to test though. It might just be that for the k6, even with -march/cpu=i586, things are compiled wrong (and might be for some athlon as well). As a side note, do you have a relative more complete list of what is not working ?
