...and accept my humblest apologies. There was a typo in the script that pointed a key line to ebuild.preinstall instead of ebuilds.preinstall (not the "s"). This affects both module and libperl checks. Unfortunately, this was at a crucial size check (part where I check to see if there is anything to reinstall). If you ran it based on a download from http://dev.gentoo.org/~mcummings you are probably ok, this was introduced after a some folks pointed out in a bug report that if there wasn't anything to reinstall it still tried to (and complained).
