I just made a vast number of commits to the fonts packages in an attempt
to fix this by regenerating the fonts.* files in pkg_postinst().
Upstream has a number of fonts installing into the same directory, so
just providing upstream's fonts.* files gives us a broken setup.

Things should work now.
