Have you even _looked_ at the patches? Can you tell which ones are :
 - backports?
 - Gentoo-specific (for build issues)?
 - shared with other distros?

Did you count the patches we apply because upstream is either dead, unresponsive or downright wrong?

Yes, we have a lot of patches, but then again, we have a lot of open bugs too. I, for one, am much more worried about the latter.

Please back this up with _real_ statistics.
