The journal is not cleared. On ext3/4, this usually means metadata — see [1] for more details. All in all, secure-delete has its uses. What are people supposed to use instead, dd if=/dev/zero of=/media/sdcard/naked_gf_0001.jpg? Besides, there are complementary tools in the package, like sfill.
