that said, i wouldnt call it 'policy violation', but i wouldnt want the func
to appear in ebuilds ;)
There are only 3 other ebuilds that use it.
i removed the documentation on it, but it's still used internally by things
like epatch, so it wont be removed from eutils.eclass any time soon
Can we agree come up with some standard way of documenting which functions can and can't be used by ebuilds? These things tend to evolve anyway and some documentation standard (such as doxygen) would be nice to generate up to date docs directly from the comments.
