I think there should be a USE option while installing portage that allows it to be in Binary Package using a Binary host ONLY and no manual compilation. I really do not know how difficult this would be to do but I think it would be a cool idea. I don't really see how to efficiently create a BIN HOST although i've seen some hack jobs out there that seem to do it well enough, I'd be interested to see how a small embedded machine with X (much like I was doing but with all binary packages from a server and such)
