When I used to use Fink, I wrote this script for viewing PostScript files 
with Fink's ghostview (Preview.app under Jaguar wasn't able to open them).

To use it, just paste the script into Script Editor, change the PATH 
variables, and save as application. You can then drop stuff on it from 
finder and that stuff will get opened by gv in X11.
