We are *not* prefixed. This a page on what we would *like* to be,
somehow.

Yes, we focus on having a prefixed install. And to avoid any
confusion, or make it even worse hereafter, in *development* we have
*extremely* buggy beta versions of a prefixed install, which are *no way
of even being close to ready for users*. Please note, a huge disclaimer
applies here: it's *NOT* useable at all. What's currently in gentoo,
and in installers, is *not* a prefixed version.

I realise that this page might be a bit vague. In the first place it is
meant for developers active in this field, and interested users.

I realised that when I re-read it. I'll try to improve it anyway.

This is actually a question, which's answer is much larger than just me
or the team members. It requires the whole community to agree on a
rather large change into their core product: Portage. You can consider
this as a road towards a huge GLEP. Pieces that I write might be
reusable, in such document, to make it a full story, including some
experimental, but mature results. It's not only our work, far from.
Without the help of some Portage guys, we'd never got here I think.
Since we're all busy, and progress usually comes with little bumps, I'm
hestitant to give any predictions on time frames. I don't oversee the
whole picture yet, so I don't want to give any release dates.
Thanks for your time to read it and comment upon.
