As you may or may not know, there is a new language called d. It's the
next generation of c and it was created by digital mars. I am working on a
project which deals with this and I am trying to find out when, if ever,
this is going to be ported as a gcc front end. Cygwin already has it as
one of its front end packages to gcc. Gcc also has it as a add on. Is
Gentoo going to port it soon? The reason why is that I can download the
gcc build and add the front end to it and get it. But if Gentoo is
thinking about porting is as part of gcc, then I would just wait.
sys-apps/portage discussion only. The possibility of the front-end being added to the tree is more of a gcc
maintainer/interested dev question, something bugs.g.o is a bit better for (the -dev ml too, thinking about it).
