Yes, you can discuss it here :) Most recently, the idea of having a
profile specifically tailored for servers was raised by Patrick Lauer
In fact, it appears that work is already underway. Have a look at
/usr/portage/profiles/default-linux/x86/dev/2006.1/server. Do bear in
mind that these profiles are under development and should be
considered experimental.
