Hi Ferris,
I write to you because of your xorg.con for sparc machines. Can you add
in configuration that for xorg>6.8.2 keyboard is deprecated and we must

I saw lot of people encountered this problem :)
Thanks,

Unfortunately, it's KERNEL dependent. If you run kernel 2.4.xx, you must compile with that kernel and use keyboard. If you run with kernel-2.6.xx, you may compile with any kernel, but use kbd.

The problem comes from the fact that kernel-2.6.xx remains unstable, but I had thought that it would become default kernel about six months ago. Please join squash's (Josh Grebe's) campaign for a stable kernel-2.6.xx, and the problem will eventually disapear. But right now, 2.6 is not usable on U60(2x450) systems (personal knowledge), and on squash's systems (as he reports). It's getting better, though.

I made a bad tactical decision (thought kernel-2.6.xx was stable, 2.4 was just an artifact). I have been regretting it for six months or so, now.

Thanks for the report.
