You can emerge until you are blue in the face and it won't make this problem go away. There is no question in my mind that the header file is being corrupted somewhere between the IDE disk and when the gcc process is reading in the file to compile it. No amount of emerging is going to fix that bug. It could be in the kernel, there could be something up with the IDE disk you're using, but there is not enough data to determine this right now.
