I'm no expert or anything so this is really just a guess more then anything. But you might want to look at all the /usr/lib/*.la files and see if any of them contain links to the old 3.2.1 folder. There was a similar problem where some KDE apps were looking for their libraries in the old kde/3/ folder instead of kde/3.1.
