Do you have an SMTP server running on your machine?  By default,
fetchmail will try to deliver to the local SMTP server.  If you don't,
you could try using procmail as described in sections 2 and 3 of:

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/guide-to-mutt.xml

This is what I'm doing, and it works well.
