I just started installing gentoo on my x86 box.
I have two questions/problems: -----------------------------
1. I have a wireless network card. I did not find the driver (prism2_pci) in the list of supported driver.
Instead gentoo loaded the modules "aironet4500-proc" and "aironet4500-core". Then when I do ifconfig -a I get the following interfaces:
dummy: (dummy) lo0: (loopback) sit0: (seems to be for IPv6) ???
Did I miss something?
2. I temporarly borrowed another network card and plugged a cable in my wireless router-- my roomates are not very happy :-(.
Then I configured network, partitions... Everything goes fine until at some point, my screen becomes black and I am not sure what is happening. Even if i press a few keys or move the mouse, nothing happens anymore...
I was compiling stage 1 when this happened the first time. I shutdowned my computer and restarted again. Now i am in the stage 2 and this just happened again. Any help would be appreciated.
