Finally got it working. No please add user to portage group message when
already was.

1) Removed portage from /etc/groups.

2) Don't remember if it was the 'newgrp' command or what I did, but got this
message:
Code:
portage: 'portage' user or group missing. Please update baselayout
and merge portage user(250) and group(250) into your passwd
and group files. Non-root compilation is disabled until then.
Also note that non-root/wheel users will need to be added to
the portage group to do portage commands.

For the defaults, line 1 goes into passwd, and 2 into group.
         portage:x:250:250:portage:/var/tmp/portage:/bin/false
         portage::250:portage

3) So checked and 1st line was in /etc/passwd, readded the same line that was
in /etc/group (2nd line) back in place and added myself to it.

4) logged out and back, still nogo. 'groups' command still showed nothing on
portage.

5) Got mad and threw the computer out the windows!! No, really what I did was
get a wild idea and added users to the portage group. Logged backout.

6) Low and behold, did 'groups' and there it finally was after all this time:
the word portage in there.

7) Got another wild idea and removed users from portage group. Logged back out
and in. Tested 'groups' again and still there, portage was still in 'groups'.

Tested trying to search if something was installed and did not get the stupid
message.

Working now.
