it took me quite a while to figure out the whole printing thing too, but
here's what i know:
the printing manager can be found in the "k" menu under:
k > control centre > settings > printing manager
or in the control centre itself under "peripherals"
the wizard in there is pretty simple to follow, but if you run into issues, i
know the gentoo site has a printing guide that's pretty comprehensive
(www.gentoo.org).
