I ran memtest86 and it ran for two days and nothing.. SO I changed the flags and it 
worked this time...

Segfaults are caused by faulty hardware, namely memory, or CFLAGS that are too 
aggressive.  I suggest you look into both.  To check your memory, run 
memtest86.  To make sure that your CFLAGS are not at fault, use really 
generic flags such as CFLAGS="-mcpu=i686 -O2".
